A BLOG ON BLOGGING

Blogging seems to be the new rage in opinionated writing on the internet. Many ministers and ministries now incorporate them in their web sites.  They are kind of “Bill O’Reily” memos or op-ed columns. Some are short and simple, others are long and allow readers to post responses.

At any rate with the introduction of our updated web site, a place has been included for the “Pastor’s Blog”. To be honest I don’t know if I’ll continue doing this or not. Frankly, I just don’t know if my schedule will allow it. I’ve read several blogs by others in the ministry and I am amazed that they have the time to write such lengthy essays and respond to the subsequent comments by readers. In fact, some of them write daily blogs. Occasionally I can’t help but wonder how they can write so much and do everything else that ministry demands, like prepping 3 and sometimes 4 messages a week (unless they are not doing much study), attending meetings, counseling sessions, community events, planning or visiting. Maybe those things are not part of their agenda. If so, then daily blogging might just be their highlight. None-the-less, I am going to give it a whirl, but not daily, no way, it’s just not high enough on the priority list and the time is just not there. So will I do this consistently? Don’t count on it… a new blog will appear whenever I can squeeze one in.  And this is the first one because they told me they needed something in the blogging space. Thus my blog on blogging!

Be blessed until we blog again!
