Life Management… Beliefs That I’ve Built My Life On Pt. 1
Today I will conclude a month-long series on the importance of making God First in every area of our life. It’s really Biblical Life Management 101! I have shared with you in the past that one of my most favorite gifts given to me by our daughter was a hammer that she had custom made with the inscription on the handle that said, “Thank you
- I Believe that God’s Word is True… I don’t just believe parts of the scripture are true, no, I believe it is all true and fully inspired by God. Consequently, it shapes my worldview, my decision making, my leadership of God’s people and my preaching and teaching. I am bound by its truth and I am compelled by Paul’s statement in 2 Timothy 3:16–17, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
- I Believe that God’s Call/Voice is Personal and Takes Priority Over All Other Voices… I believe that God still speaks and that He desires to speak to me. I believe that God’s voice is the most important voice in the universe and that I must train my spiritual ears to hear Him. With so many voices all clamoring for my attention, learning to discern His call and voice is a pursuit that demands my utmost discipline and consistent devotion. (Proverbs 2:1–5) “My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to
(Isaiah 30:21) “And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.”
(Jeremiah 33:3) “Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.
I hope that these are encouraging and stirring. Next week I’ll share a couple more of the Beliefs that I’ve built my life on. In the meantime, Make God First this week in everything.
