Life Management… Beliefs That I’ve Built My Life On Pt. 2

Life Management… Beliefs That I’ve Built My Life On Pt. 2

Today is a day of obedience and victory. Some people view obedience as a chore. I hope that is not your view. On the other hand, to those who understand it, obedience is an opportunity. It is an opportunity to demonstrate our trust in God. It is an opportunity to get in on God’s best for our lives. It is an opportunity to reap the blessings of God’s promises, it is an opportunity to Make God first, and it is an opportunity to experience spiritual victory!

Our “Prove the Tithe” is an annual emphasis to remind us of God’s command to give 10% of our income to Him and His work through the Church. It’s not an extra offering, it’s simply an emphasized offering in accord with the command of God’s Word. If today is the first time you’ve ever tithed, I am excited for you, because you are going to discover something that those who have practiced tithing already know, it is this, you can’t out give God! And let me say thank you in advance for your obedience. I look forward to another great year of ministry at RBC.

Last week I shared… a couple of the spiritual beliefs that I’ve built my life on. Today I give you a couple more.

    1. I believe that My Response to God’s Direction makes all the Difference in my life… I believe that God’s plans for me are good and that He longs for me to direct my life according to His plans. If I will hear and obey, He will guide my life and very steps in a way that is satisfying for me and glorifying to Him. God wants to lead me, so my response to Him makes a difference. The scripture says, (Psalm 37:23-24)The steps of a man are established by the Lord,  when he delights in his way; though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord upholds his hand.

(Isaiah 30:21) And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.

    1. I Believe that Faith in God is not Passive… I believe that faith is active, that real faith is displayed through my behavior. I believe that deeds done in response to the truths of God reveals my faith and confidence in God. I believe God tests my faith to develop my faith. God wants to move me from having just a talking faith to a walking faith. I agree wholeheartedly with the words of James, “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.(James 1:22–25)

Your life is God’s construction project. He is always building and establishing His work in you. Paul said, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10) Why not tell Him today that you are grateful for His wise architecture and ongoing work of maturity in your life.

Remember, All year let’s Make God First!... And now let’s do that through worship. Sing, praise, listen and remember that God is always trying to take you someplace new. I love being your Pastor!

    For God’s Glory Alone,

    Bro. Ray
