Life Management… Beliefs That I’ve Built My Life On Pt. 3

Life Management… Beliefs That I’ve Built My Life On Pt. 3

Foundations are essential for a stable and enduring building. Jesus illustrated the point when He talked about the different kinds of houses in Matthew 7:24–27 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

Of course, Jesus is referring to the beliefs upon which our lives are built. Let me share a couple more beliefs that are worth building your life on.

    1. I Believe that Eternity is the Ultimate Motivator for Serving God here and now. Since the Bible teaches that we will all stand and kneel before God one day, I am motivated to serve Him well here, so that when I get there, I can hear Him say, “Well done good and faithful servant”. Knowing that, “…we will all stand before the judgment seat of God; for it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” So then each of us will give an account of himself to God” (Romans 14:10–12), is a great motivator.
    2. I Believe that God has Created Me with Purpose… I believe that my existence is God ordained and that my life is God designed. I believe that He created me with a mission and entrusted me with everything I need to accomplish His purpose for my life. My greatest fulfillment and satisfaction is only discovered in living out that purpose. The scripture says, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5)

Connection Sunday, March 4th Everyone needs a small group! And on the first Sunday of March, I want to encourage everyone to find one. If you are already in a Connection Group/Bible Study class be sure to be here as we emphasize everyone making a connection. If you haven’t been in a while, let me encourage you to re-engage in a Connection Group/Bible Study class. And if you have yet to make a connection in a Sunday morning Bible Study class, would you let today be the day that you join and attend a Connection group of your choice. We’ll gladly help you find a place if you are unsure of where to go. Our staff and team will be in the Welcome Center to assist you.

Small Bible study groups are the heartbeat of a healthy congregation! They provide fellowship, in-depth Bible study and a means of care and prayer for those in each group that is hard to achieve with worship alone. So, let us all be here on March 4th and in a small group at the 9:30 hour and blow the roof off with our connection. In fact, if you will all attend, we’ll set a new record and have fun doing so for the glory of God.

The Stories of Jesus… is my new sermon series focused on the parables of Jesus. If you were not able to join us last week, be sure to pick up a copy or go online and listen to the first message entitled Parables of Purpose. It’s an introduction that answers the question, “Why did Jesus teach in parables?”

Remember, All year let’s Make God First!... And now let’s do that through worship. Sing, praise, listen and remember that God is always trying to take you someplace new. I love being your Pastor!

    For God’s Glory Alone,
