Reading Habits of Ultra-Successful People…

    Reading Habits of Ultra-Successful People…

I recently came across a very interesting article titled Reading Habits of Ultra-Successful People. The article begins with the following, "Want to know one habit ultra-successful people have in common? They read. A lot." Warren Buffett would read 600-1000 pages a day at the beginning of his investing career, and according to the article, he still devotes about 80% of each day to reading. Bill Gates reads 50 books a year. Mark Cuban reads three hours a day. When asked how he learned to build rockets, Elon Musk said, "I read books." Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, resolved to read a book every 2 weeks throughout 2015. But one thing that marks all of their reading is…education. They don't read to be entertained; they read to be educated. "They believe that books are a gateway to learning and knowledge." All of these people live incredibly demanding and busy lives. Yet they all understand the importance and value of reading. Interestingly, though not surprising, they are highly selective in what they read. They tend not to read tabloids, novels and magazines. Rather, they obsess over biographies and autobiographies in order to learn from, be inspired by and find guidance through the lives of other successful people.

Now if that is important to success in the world, how much more valuable is reading for the Christian who wants to grow and be a Spiritual success? And here is the reading path: if you want to make progress in the Christian life, read the Word of God, learn from its message and then put it into practice. The fact is, Ultra Spiritually-Successful people understand the power of knowing and practicing God’s Word. Listen to what God spoke to Joshua after Moses had died… “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” (Joshua 1:8)

In other words, the Bible is the preeminent book of instruction for success in life! So read… read biographies, read history, read spiritually themed books, but most of all read daily the Word of God. Meditate on it day and night, do all that it says, and then you will find good success.

Vermont… A team of 7 men left yesterday and will be on mission at Northeast Baptist College in Bennington, Vermont this coming week. This college is a faith work and one of the national partnerships we have committed ourselves to support and serve in their efforts to train young men and women to take the gospel back into the Northeast. Be praying for our team all week.

Now let's turn our hearts toward God. Let’s surrender our agendas to His will and let’s worship with our obedience and praise. He is worthy of all we have and all we are. So, give it all to Him and you will get His best for you in return. Need a word today? He’s got one for you. Need encouragement? Find it in fellowship with His people. And remember, God is always trying to take you someplace new. I love being your Pastor!!!!

    For God’s Glory Alone,
