Your Time is God’s Time…

01.21.18 | by Ray Jones

    Your Time is God’s Time…

Benjamin Franklin once asked, “Do you love life? Then do not squander time, for time is the stuff life is made of.”

Today we continue our discussion on Life Management in order to Make God First in 2018. Have you ever considered that your time, your schedule and your calendar really belong to God? You and I have the same amount of time every day, but we don’t have the same life clock. God controls the clock of your life and He has entrusted us with the responsibilities of our time each day of life. You can’t give that time away and you can’t reclaim the time that has passed. However, you can waste your God-given time, or you can use it for His glory.

Though our life clocks may differ, you can be assured that God has given each of us enough time to do what He created us to do. And like our talents and gifts, we will give an account of our time to God. If you will be a faithful and effective steward of time this year, don’t take the seconds, minutes, hours and days for granted. Jesus said, “We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.” (John 9:4) Is Christ First on your Calendar?

Prove the Tithe… Remember on Sunday, February 4th, we will practice the Word of God and bring our tithes into the “storehouse.” This is not an extra offering! It is simply an opportunity for all of us to bring a tithe (10%) on the same day. We’ve done this for several years and it is a remarkable expression of our obedience to God and trust in His Word.

What Word you say? Malachi 3:10… “Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.

God wants you to test Him in this matter! It’s the only place in scripture that God not only gives us permission to test Him but actually commands us to do so. Why? Because He wants us to learn that He is our source in life. And, He really does want to bless us.

If you’ve never tithed your income, this is the time to start, to obey God and to experience His provision as promised. I and countless others can testify that God can’t be out given and He is good to His Word. So again, on February 4th, let’s all bring a tithe offering and test the Lord. It’s always a joy to see people discover that it is not only commanded by God… It works just as He promised.

Make a Connection… Today in our Mission hall, several tables will be set up to help you make a small group connection. If you are not involved in our Sunday morning Connection Groups/Sunday School, we want you to be! The small groups are the heartbeat of our family for Bible study, fellowship and caring for each other. At each table, a Connection representative will be available to help you with a variety of options… Everyone in our family needs a small group, so sign up today if you are not already connected—by the way you don’t have to be a member of RBC to be a member of our connection groups.

Blessings… I am so glad you are here today. God has something for you. Seek Him, listen to His Word and worship Him with all your heart. And remember, God is always trying to take you someplace new. I love being your Pastor!!!!

    For God’s Glory Alone,
