Birth to 23 months
What to Bring
When packing a diaper bag for your child, please include the following items:
1. Two or three disposable diapers, no cloth diapers please.
2. Pacifier or other item should your child need it for security.
3. A complete change of clothes in case your child would require that.
4. A bottle of milk, formula, juice, or water. (this is a good practice even
for mothers who nurse.) Bottles need to be pre-mixed. To insure that all
children are given adequate care we do not feed your child food. If your child
needs to eat while at church we request that you come and pick your child up
and take them to the nursing mother room where you can feed your child without
disturbing other children. A high chair is provided for your convenience.
Please label all items with your child's
first and last name before arriving at your child's class. This helps us keep
track of your child's items.
Your
Child's Health
We operate a well-baby program. For the protection of all the children in our
ministry we cannot accept a child with a runny nose, fresh cold( four days or
less), fever, rash, persistent cough, diarrhea or any other signs of illness.
We ask that your child be free of fever for 24 hours. We request that
you not place your child in the program with they are at risk of exposing other
children. Than you in advance for helping us keep our preschool program a
healthy place for all.
When
you Arrive
Please come to the Preschool West entrance a pick
up a parent pager and sign in your child. The parent pager has an identifying
number on it. If you are needed to return to your child's classroom you will be
paged. The page will vibrate, so please hold or wear the pager at all times. We
ask that you present the pager upon return to your child's classroom and then
we will return your child to you. A child will not be released to a parent
without presentation of the assigned pager. A preschool staff member will
direct you to the age-appropriate classroom. A leader will meet you at the door
to receive your child and any other necessary items. Please check in and note
any information that will help in caring for your child such as feeding times,
sleeping times, allergies and special needs.
Snacks
Snacks are provided for the children once they graduate to the PS1D (13-18
months) classroom. The food items consist of water, Cheerios or saltine
crackers. If your child has any allergies please inform the leader when you
check your child into their classroom.
Curriculum
We believe our littlest ones can learn! Laying Biblical foundation in a child's
life are most important and our volunteer teachers take this responsibility
very seriously. Your child will enjoy experiences that allow them to reinforce
each lessons Bible truth and life application.
Saying
Good-bye Feel
free to check on your little one at any time during the worship service.
However, we ask that you do so discreetly, trying not to let your child see
you.
After you have completed
the check-in process, simply wave a quick good-bye and leave for worship or
Sunday School. As you know, it is normal for little ones to cry when leaving a
parent. This does not last long, and separation becomes easier over time. Our
leaders will immediately try to create interest in a toy or activity and give
assurance that you will return after the worship service and Sunday School is
completed. If your child cries for an extended period of time of 10 minutes, we
will page you.
Pick Up
Procedures
Your child's leader will expect a parent to drop off and pick up your child unless
special instructions are given at check-in. Please have the parent pager ready
to return to the leader at the classroom door. The leader will then return your
child to you. Please do not send anyone under the age of 17 years of age to
pick up your child. Please make sure that all your child's personal items have
been returned to you before you leave the premises. Lost and found items will
be retained for a short time. Items not claimed after one month are donated to
a charitable organization.
Nursing
Mother's Room (located in Preschool West)
A preschool staff member will be happy to direct nursing mothers to the
isolated area designed to provide privacy during feeding times. Because our
space is limited we do ask that mothers limit their stay to just the time
required to meet the needs of the child.

Worship
Time
Beginning at age 4, parents are asked to take their child with them to Sunday evening worship only, during
Sunday mornings we provide extended Bible teaching time with age appropriate
curriculum and activities. However, by age 4 a child needs to begin learning
about corporate worship and what it means and most importantly they need to see
mom and dad worshipping so that they can begin to develop the habit of
corporate worship. Our preschool ministry wants to help parent and preschoolers
be successful in this big step towards maturity so we have provided to parents
a booklet free of charge called When I Go to Church: An Introduction to
Congregational Worship for Preschoolers. You may receive this book by
simply contacting our preschool ministry office.
