Fortify Your Faith…

Recently I watched an interview with Lt. Col. Oliver North and Lt. Gen. Jerry Boykin, by a pastor in Murfreesboro, TN. Both North and Boykin are outspoken followers of Christ and shared their stories of how they came to know Him. These two “old” highly decorated soldiers with years of combat experience and military leadership discuss their relationship with Christ, give perspective on world events, political leadership, Israel, ISIS, including leaving behind in Afghanistan those (interpreters and aides) who have assisted us through the years, and keep in mind that this interview was conducted in May, not August.

Further, they discuss their belief that we are biblically living in the last days, persecution that is now gaining traction in America against believers including the previous and recent persecution that they have both experienced because of their faith in Christ. Both have been and continue to face death threats upon their lives and their family’s lives because of their strong and courageous stance for Christ.

I rarely do this, but if you are interested in viewing this interview you can find it at https://link.edgepilot.com/s/20b0f936/Ip9lJ12cSUG9SXvbC8XMCQ?u=https://ugetube.com/watch/lt-col-oliver-north-lt-gen-william-g-boykin-sunday-service_vzfejres2m2euqf.html?lang=german The reason I call your attention to this is simple… in my view, the interview is a clarion call for believers to be prepared to stand for what is most likely coming to biblically committed Christians in this country… i.e. persecution. As I have proclaimed from the pulpit and written about for years, the Bible makes clear that what we are seeing is characteristic of the end of the age.

Listen to Jesus’ words in Luke 21:11-15… “There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences. And there will be terrors and great signs from heaven. But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my name’s sake. This will be your opportunity to bear witness. Settle it therefore in your minds not to meditate beforehand how to answer, for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict.

Note above that persecution will begin prior to the very final matters. Are we there yet? On some level, yes. And we are certainly getting closer, and the pace is quickening to a fuller expression of hostility against the biblical Church and Christians—in America! I do not know how all this fits into God’s precise time schedule of the last days. But I can say, these things are thoroughly consistent with scripture and for that reason I write frequently about these matters, not to scare you, but to prepare you and urge you to fortify your faith in Christ… without which you will not stand in what Jesus called the hour of testing— I firmly believe it is my God given responsibility to speak these things to you as your Pastor and Shepherd. I never want you to be uninformed (1 Thess. 4:13) and taken by surprise. “I have said all these things to you to keep you from falling away. They will put you out of the synagogues. Indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God.” (John 16:1–2)

I do believe that we are racing toward the end of “casual” Christianity. Are you a casual Christian? It is past time to take seriously the things of God in our personal lives, in our family life and in our Church life. It is time to fortify your faith. Don’t take my word for it… take God’s Word for it… it’s all right there in the scripture. And remember, God is always trying to take you someplace new! I love being your Pastor!!!

For God’s Glory Alone,

Bro. Ray
