Is it just me, or does it feel like it’s been forever since we last gathered on this campus? Whatever the case, I am glad you are here! Thank you for staying connected and for all the prayer. There has been a strong sense of the Spirit of God in this place… God has been filling the “Temple”. I am grateful for technology and its usefulness in proclaiming the gospel. More people have watched and heard the message of Christ through our media in the past 8 weeks than any other time in our history. I rejoice and may it continue. But it isn’t the same without you here. So, welcome back Ridgecrest.
In some respects, it feels like we are starting over, starting small with just a worship experience. But it is tempered by the fact that we know that this is only short term (whatever short term means in this season of pandemic) and that once again we are headed forward and headed back to the future.
Through this time, I can identify with Paul, “I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel.”
Today let’s rejoice in the Lord, let’s worship Him with all our might and let’s obey Him with every fiber of our being. He has brought us here and He has blessed here, so let us with unified hearts and lifted hands praise Him. Let the prophet’s words be ours… “I have heard all about you, Lord. I am filled with awe by your amazing works. In this time of our deep need, help us again as you did in years gone by. And in your anger, remember your mercy.” (Habakkuk 3:2, NLT)
May the glory of God fill this place today and may our hearts be renewed with burning passion for our relationship to Him. And remember, God is always trying to take us someplace new. I love being your Pastor!
For God’s Glory Alone,
